Evening Reporting Center (ERC) Program
The Evening Reporting Center program serves as a vital alternative to detention within the juvenile court system. As part of the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative, BGCI provides structured programming and supervision in communities with historically high juvenile crime rates. Through intensive oversight and engaging activities during out-of-school hours, we work to strengthen family relationships and reduce the likelihood of future offenses.
- Youth engage in evidence-based programming including Power Source, which builds cognitive-behavioral skills and mindfulness practices to reduce risk-taking behavior, alongside sports, recreation, and college/career preparation activities.
- Our program removes barriers by offering free participation and transportation assistance, while providing vital resources like safe spaces during out-of-school times, field trips, teen nights, and college tours.
- We maintain five strategically located clubs across Indianapolis, each staffed with dedicated case managers and equipped with comprehensive security measures including locked doors and camera systems.
