Gym Coordinator

Purpose of Position:

Under the direction of the Unit Director and Program Director, the Gym Coordinator will plan and lead fun, educational, structured and age-appropriate activities in health and physical education in order to enhance Club members’ appreciation of these areas.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and supervise health and physical education activities for youth ages 5-18 that are:
    • Safe
    • Fun
    • Educational
    • Structured
    • Age appropriate
  • Provide positive guidance and discipline for youth in assigned program areas.
  • Maximize Club member participation in Triple Play daily challenges and the Presidential Youth Fitness Program.
  • Oversee gym supplies and equipment (request additional supplies when needed, request equipment maintenance when needed).
  • Clean gym area daily.
  • Accurately track participation of members in programs as well as program outcomes.
  • Enthusiastically complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education degree or significant experience working with youth ages 5-18.

Degree or significant experience in health/physical education.

Ability to serve as a role model for Club members.

Physical Demands:

Standing/walking for long periods of time while supervising youth.

Reaching, lifting, balancing, etc while cleaning program area.

Extensive physical movement while supervising, demonstrating and/or participating in physical activities with youth.

Membership Desk Coordinator

Under the direction of the Unit Director and Program Director, the Membership Desk Coordinator will be in charge of entering membership forms in the system, checking in members and welcoming them as they arrive, and answering phone calls for the Club.

Essential Functions:

  • Enter membership forms into KidTrax
  • Check each member in
  • Provide positive guidance and discipline for youth in assigned program areas.
  • Oversee membership desk supplies and equipment (request additional supplies when needed, request equipment maintenance when needed).
  • Clean area daily.
  • Enthusiastically complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience working with youth ages 5-18.
  • Degree or significant experience working with youth
  • Administrative experience is a plus
  • Ability to serve as a role model for Club members.

Physical Demands:

Computer Lab Coordinator

Purpose of Position:

Under the direction of the Unit Director and Program Director, the Computer Lab Coordinator will plan and lead fun, educational, structured and age-appropriate computer activities in a computer lab setting for youth ages 5-18.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and supervise computer lab activities for youth ages 5-18 that are:
    • Safe
    • Fun
    • Educational
    • Structured
    • Age appropriate
  • Provide positive guidance and discipline for youth in assigned program areas.
  • Oversee computer lab supplies and equipment (request additional supplies when needed, request equipment maintenance when needed).
  • Clean computer lab area daily.
  • Accurately track participation of members in programs as well as program outcomes.
  • Enthusiastically complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education degree or significant experience working with youth ages 5-18.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer concepts, Microsoft Office products and digital/video/audio production.
  • Degree or significant experience working with youth in a computer lab setting.
  • Ability to serve as a role model for Club members.

Teen Director AmeriCorps (Full Time)

The AmeriCorps Teen Program Director will be responsible for implementing College- and Career-readiness programs for junior high and high school students.  Experience in counseling and/or advising students on barriers to success will be considered a plus. The position is full time, 36-40 hours per week, and requires evenings and some weekends, as well as some travel.

This is a 1700 hour contract that goes from September 2019 until August 2020

Benefits: $634 bi-weekly stipend plus an education award of $6,095 upon successful completion of year of service, health care, child care, and up to 340 hours of professional development.
